The Visitor Centre, accessible free of charge for all, is where visitors get in touch with the World Heritage site. The exhibition reflects all the elements and values that have been recognized by UNESCO as Outstanding Universal Value. In addition to the presentation, the Visitor Centre provides the site maps, a 3D model representative of the site area (property) so everyone can find the way around the visit, some examples of the production of the factory (from typewriters to the first desktop computer). Some services, such toilets, are available to visitors.
The Visitor Centre is managed, on behalf of the Municipality of Ivrea, by a private company (Spazi-O Ltd) that offers tours every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am and at 15.00 p.m.with official and certified guide. Tour operators who do not reach the minimum numbers can take advantage of this service to avoid disregarding the expectations of their customers. Because the buildings of the World Heritage site are mostly privately owned, access is only available during the guided tours. The staff of Spazi-O is available to tour operators and guides for booking visits and some exclusive access to buildings.
The access to private buildings is available only with professional guides who have participated in the specific training or who have made inspections prior to the visit. In case of need, the staff of Spazi-O can provide an official guide, among the trained professionals, to accompany the group in the visit.
Booking rights for exclusive access amount to 25.00 euros per group.
The booking fee for schools is 15.00 euros per group.
There are also available to visitors radio transmitters (up to a maximum of 32) at 2.00 euros each.
At the Visitor Centre, Spazi-O has set up a unique bookshop, complete with historical, architectural, urban and, in general, Olivetti culture bibliography, as well as thematic merchandising.
